Korina HuizarWe met Korina through our good friends at Vanderkitten. She is the very personifciation of Vanderkitten's motto: "for Women who kick ass."


Korina has risen through the cycling ranks quickly. She is currently the USA women's track champion. 
 
Our advice to you is never to compare quads with her...you'll just feel defeated.

What is your sport/activity?  

Professional Road and Track Cyclist

How long have you been participating in your sport?

I discovered cycling and racing in 2011 and have been hooked ever since!

What would be your perfect day?

"I'd have to say April 25th. Because it's not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket." j/k

What is your hometown?

 I was born and raised in Roseville, CA

What keeps you motivated?

The desire to be the best that I can. I got into the sport late and feel like I have a lot to catch up on. I've raced with some of the best in the world and seeing that level of talent makes you want it for yourself.  

What is your perfect post-race meal/favorite food?

Post race there's nothing quite like a burrito, or during the summer I'm all about smoothies.

When I’m not (running/riding/training/etc), I am…..

hanging out with friends and family somewhere outdoors. I love the ocean, coffee, dogs, books, yoga and sports

Go to outfit? 

My cycling kit- I wear that more than anything else.

phone- I secretly wish I could be a photographer. I love taking photos of the places I've been.

Coolest place you've ever been?

I love Spain! Europe in general is pretty amazing and rich with history.

When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up?

An astronaut- I even went to space camp as a kid!

What can you not live without?

friends and family- everything else will come and go.  

Best Advice you've ever received?

It's from Jim Carrey at a commencement speech "I learned many great lessons from my father, not the least of which was that you can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love"

Sometimes you have to be willing to lose it all in order to win

In 10 years what do you want to be?

an even better version of who I am today.
