DR. WISCO'S TOP 4 POST-SUNBURN TIPS:

1. TAKE A SUN BREAK

Immediately after you get a sunburn, or any injury that breaks the skin, your skin is highly prone to further damage. It's important you stay out of the sun to reduce any further skin damage and irritation.

2. STAY WELL HYDRATED

A sunburn can draw fluid to the skin’s surface and away from the rest of the body with the potential for you to become dehydrated. Drink plenty of water to get your hydration back up.

3. KEEP BURNED SKIN MOISTURIZED

Moisturizing with a non-scented moisturizing cream will help create a moisture barrier to heal the skin.

If your skin feels really hot and sore, consider putting your moisturizer in the refrigerator to help soothe the skin.

4. KEEP YOUR SUNSCREEN HANDY

Strategically place sunscreen in convenient places before you head out in the sun. Toss sunscreen in your purse, car, desk drawer, bike bag, golf bag or by the front door. The more accessible your sunscreen is, the more likely you will use it.

Stay sun safe & sun smart!
